Joshua T. Williams is a product of the Okaloosa County School System and its prestigious music programs, graduating from Crestview High School. He received his Bachelor of Music Education from Troy University in December of 2019.
Joshua is an active clinician, composer, and educator. While completing his undergraduate studies, Joshua wrote many works for multiple performing ensembles at Troy University, including the Sound of the South marching band and the Troy University Symphony Band. He has also completed a variety of commissions, including original music for the United States Army Band and the United States Marine Band.
The start of Joshua’s career in composition is credited to his success in the Florida Bandmaster’s Association Henry Fillmore Composition Contest, a well-known competition for youth composers in Florida. His award-winning submission, a piano solo titled Ode to a Dream, was performed at the 2014-2015 FMEA Henry Fillmore Composition Contest Award Ceremony. This performance of Ode to a Dream sparked Joshua’s passion for sharing his music.
Joshua is currently a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP), Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
